Hi there,

Can anyone make some comment on how well SharpMap has performed for them under load on various server configurations.

I'm trying to figure out whether SharpMap would be adequate for an application I have and need to know how it handles when being requested for maps (with imagery provided through a GDALRasterLayer) by about 100 concurrent users?

Your input would be much appreciated and I'll happily give feedback on how we do with any 'load testing' we undertake.

Hi Steve,

I'm sorry I can't give you any info, but I'd be very happy to help compile your results and and publish them on the SharpMap site (assuming you'd allow it). I've used web stress tools (mostly Microsoft Application Center Test) with success. I'm not sure ACT is supported any longer (though it might be still on the VS 2005 install disks). However, there are some alternatives which look promising, namely Microsoft Web Application Stress Tool, NTime and WebLoad Open Source.

Of course, if there are performance problems, I'm interested in those, too.
