Lat/Long from WCS

I am new to SharpMap and am a bit confused about thw WCS system it uses internally. Is there a way to convert WCS to standard Lat/Long because while my .shp files load just fine into SharpMap, I want to place markers using Lat/Long data in an XML file. Is there a way for me to convert between these two systems easily? I can't find any info online.

Hi smarinel, the map uses the SRS of the base (first added) layer.
If you are then adding data from the xml file you then need to construct a transform from whatever CRS the data is in to the CRS of the map/base layer.

See http://sharpmap.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=Apply%20on%20the%20fly%20transformation%20to%20a%20layer&referringTitle=How%20to...

Hi There,

I have a very simliar request.  My co-ordinates are in a shape file with the following in its .prj file PROJCS["GD_1949_New_Zealand_Map_Grid",GEOGCS["GCS_New_Zealand_1949",DATUM["D_New_Zealand_1949",SPHEROID["International_1924",6378388,297]],PRIMEM["Greenwich",0],

UNIT["Degree",0.0174532925199432955]],PROJECTION["New_Zealand_Map_Grid"],PARAMETER["False_Easting",2510000],PARAMETER["False_Northing",6023150],PARAMETER["Longitude_Of_Origin",173],

PARAMETER["Latitude_Of_Origin",-41],UNIT["Meter",1]]

ATM when I add the layer in it displays the co-ordinates in UTM I wish to convert these to latitude and longtitude such that they can be used in bing maps API.  While I understand that I have to create a representation of the target WKT format I want to transform to no idea about what this should look like can you please help me out?

Regards,

Kyle
