Hello project members,

even though the MapWindow team released their Proj4 port the other day, I decided to publish the proj4net project, because it already had gotten pretty far, and this way, we can 'abuse' it to fit e.g. SharpMap's needs.

Atm it is an almost 1:1 port of Proj4J, except that it has

  • properties instead of nasty get.../set... functions,
  • some modified access statements
  • (probably) some bugs due to the conversion.

Enjoy, and maybe join me on the effort to make it useful for sharpmap.

cheers

hi Felix,

Good to hear!

About integration with SharpMap. I would prefer an approach were it does not depend deeply on any one framework. So ideally it should work with geoapiv1, geoapiv2 or even system.spatial's interface. For ease of use there could be an access layers specific for each geoapi.

I am going to try it in SharpMapSilverlight soon. And if you have a sample to transform wgs84 to ShericalMercator it will be sooner.

Paul.
