Hi ruvy -

You might be able to use the Ogr provider for this - I'm not sure, since I've never looked at it.

The first SharpMap which supports read/write/create is v2.0: v0.9 was not designed with updating in mind.

The OGR provider is in the SharpMap.Extensions project, found in the source tree.(SharpMap.Extensions)

It relies on the open source OGR/GDAL libraries, found here: http://www.gdal.org/ .

We try to keep the needed libraries here, however: References4SharpMap.Extensions

I have been using using NetTopologySuite to write shape files and dbfs.

Ah, right.

mtidd is correct - I'd forgotten about the GeoTools.Net classes in NetTopologySuite v1.x.

Hi ruvy, the Net Topology Suite project is still running and it works with Sharp Map 0.9 but requires conversion between each of the native geometries. In the next versions of SharpMap and NTS they will share a common interface (from GeoAPI) and be completely interchangeable. HTH jd
