Ciao,

i would like to use the GDAL Layer, i get the sample and it works...  i understand how to use it...  but...

...how can i take a scanned jpg   and run into a geo referentied images? (taking into account that i know the geo position of the border of my images...  and in know even the  projection wkt!) ??

Suggestion of sofware??  and if they can make even reprojection!...  should be very very nice!

Thanks!

Alberto,

the tools you are looking for are 'gdal_translate' and 'gdalwarp'. You can find it in the FWTools2.4.7\bin folder.

With gdal_translate you can set upper left and lower right coordinates of your scanned image and, if you want to, assign a spatial reference system.

With gdal_warp you can reproject that image to any other spatial reference system.

For specification look at http://www.gdal.org/gdal_translate.html and http://www.gdal.org/gdalwarp.html.

Thanks for your answere you already told me something about gdalwrap...    ...but any other lazy Microsoft Windows programmer i'm not feel good when i've to use Command Prompt with 1 line of command with 1000 options...  eh eh eh  in other words...    does it exist a GUI program that provide same capabilities?

Thanks again!

Alberto

Alberto, you might want to try QGis along with gdal plugins. That shall serve your requirements for the GUI ;-).

I'll try Qgis anyway...   it was fantastic even the command line exe was pretty simply to use! i was able to geo reference and then reproject to my Proj WKT !

Very very very very thanks! was an optimum work !
