OGR Provider

May 24, 2011 at 6:32 PM
Hi
I am looking for information on the use of OGR Provider.
So far the information I’ve found is sparse and dated.
I am eventually interested in using it to convert DXF Files to Postgis.
Could anyone point me to an example of using SharpMap OGR in conversions?

Hello Bob, why don't you use ogr2ogr from the FWTools/GDAL library?

Would you be able to point me to an example??
All I have found so far, is the use of the command line tool.

This line transforms a MapInfo tab file (mytabfile.tab) to Postgis
If you replace mytabfile.tab with yourfile.dxf instead you will achieve what you want...

ogr2ogr -f "PostgreSQL" PG:"host=myhost user=myloginname dbname=mydbname password=mypassword" mytabfile.tab
