I am thrilled to find sharpMap framework to display and work with Geospatial data.

I am currently working on a project where i need to display Netherlands postal code regions. Although, there are lot of  (FREE) sources to get ESRI shapefiles for Netherlands, but none of them provide shapefiles that display postal code regions of Netherlands.

So, i decided to generate my own set of shapefiles that would display Netherland postal code regions.

I have an Image (.JPG) file of Netherlands postal code regions but I am not sure how to generate shapefiles (.shp, .dbf and .shx) from this image file.

.JPG is a raster format whereas shapefiles are actually vector file formats, there are some ways to digitise the files automatically based color and edge but I am not sure if sharpmap supports such options. you might be better off using something like qgis for this purpose
