Dear all,
I make a simple map with a google background Layer.
In EPSG 900913 coordinate system, map unit is metre. So I can get the map scale from map.zoom.tostring().
And from the sharpmap winForm sample, I find that I can put a scale bar vir rendering SharpMap.Rendering.Decoration.ScaleBar function.
But I find the scale value from the scale bar is different to map.zoom value.
I have no idea about which one is correct?

The Map.Zoom value is the width of the viewport. In case your viewport's height is greater than its width, it is the height of the viewport.
The value displayed in ScaleBar is the actual scale.
