Geotiff not rendering correctly

Topics: SharpMap v0.9 / v1.x

I have successfully rendered most standard Geotiffs using Sharpmap, but a particular set of images provided to me do not render correctly. The georeferencing works fine - it is purely an issue with the rendering - what should be a typical satellite image appears a bit like a patch of cloudy/blue sky - white and pale blue/green patches. I would attach example images if it were possible, please advise how I could upload?

The relevant snippet from GdalInfo for the problematic files is as follows:

Pixel Size = (0.500000000000000,-0.500000000000000)
Metadata:
TIFFTAG_IMAGEDESCRIPTION={
bandList =
[
4;
3;
2;
]
}
TIFFTAG_MINSAMPLEVALUE=0
TIFFTAG_MAXSAMPLEVALUE=2047
AREA_OR_POINT=Area
Image Structure Metadata:
INTERLEAVE=BAND
Corner Coordinates:
<snipped>
Band 1 Block=16384x32 Type=UInt16, ColorInterp=Red
Band 2 Block=16384x32 Type=UInt16, ColorInterp=Green
Band 3 Block=16384x32 Type=UInt16, ColorInterp=Blue

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
