Sorrry, this is probably a very simple problem, but I can't spend any more time searching for the answer, hopfully someone can help...

A layer is a List of Shapes:

List<Shape> layer = new List<Shape>();

But I can't find the Shape Class anywhere in the sharpmap code.

Could someone point me towards it (I'm building with the latest, but also tried version 0.9)

There is no Shape type in SharpMap.. My guess is that you are copying juandoneblo's VE code... hth jd

Good guess!

I am using his code.. I take it there is an alternative method?

Is a layer a list of FeatureDataRow (in ogr a layer is a list of features)?

Or a list of Geometries.Polygons/Lines/Points?

It isn't really either - It is an object that has access to a store of Geometries - not the store itself.. hth jd
