Build problems with latest

Oct 12, 2007 at 5:23 PM
Hey All,

I'm getting these errors when compiling the latest:

Error 1 The type or namespace name 'ICoordinateSystem' does not exist in the namespace 'SharpMap.CoordinateSystems' (are you missing an assembly reference?) C:\Documents and Settings\abe\Desktop\shark\SharpMap-Trunk\SharpMap\Geometries\IGeometry.cs 36 30 SharpMap.VS2008
Error 6 The type or namespace name 'ICoordinateTransformation' does not exist in the namespace 'SharpMap.CoordinateSystems.Transformations' (are you missing an assembly reference?) C:\Documents and Settings\abe\Desktop\shark\SharpMap-Trunk\SharpMap\Layers\Layer.cs 55 54 SharpMap.VS2008
Warning 18 Could not resolve this reference. Could not locate the assembly "SharpMap.CoordinateSystems". Check to make sure the assembly exists on disk. If this reference is required by your code, you may get compilation errors. SharpMap.VS2008

Is it just the missing SharpMap.CoordinateSystems that's causing all the problems?

Thanks!

I would think "Could not locate the assembly" should give you a pretty good idea on whats wrong ;-) You can't compile a project without the assemblies its depending on.

Hi Abe -

That's probably the issue. v2.0 still doesn't use Proj.Net (since it was branched from v1.0 before Proj.Net existed), but this will change over the next few releases (before Beta 2).

@Odegaard - yep, thanks captain obvious. Of course it's not building when a referenced assembly is missing. I was only pointing it out in case it wasn't the ONLY issue ... one would think the CoordinateSystems namespace is in the SharpMap.CoordinateSystems assembly, but you never know. Perhaps the project was being refactored and the namespace was moved out or deleted from the project.

@codekaizen - can the source tree get updated to a buildable state?

Thanks!

@Abe -

Which source tree? The one I'm using (http://sharpmapv2.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/) builds fine.

Ah, totally my bad. I tried compiling the code that Codeplex had as the last check-in. I did not realize the source was hosted over on GoogleCode.

Thanks for the help!
