Disappearing polygons in Shapefile while zooming in

I use Sharpmap in a WinForms application and almost everything works great and fast. Today I recgnized something strange. I added a polygon shapefile (with islands). When the map is zoomed out I see every polygon shape. But when I zoom in there are disappearing some shapes. Every time I zoom in a step there are less shapes. In ArcGIS everything works fine. At the beginning I thought it happens because ao the alpha blending polygon fill, but I checked and it wasn't the reason.

Anybody an idea?
I would appreciate.

I found the same problem with polyline shap layer.

I was editing my Shapefile in ArcGIS. I did a MERGE with the geoprocessing tool. And now everything works fine. I Thinks my Shape file wasnt digitized well. ArcGIS is accepting the geometric 'errors' but Sharpmap doesn't draw this shapes at a certain zoom level. But I don't exactly know why. For my actual problem my solution works. But if anybody knows the exact cause of the problem let me know.

Consider using MsSqlSpatial for big datasets. Shapefiles isn't very efficient when data gets really large.
It's free!
