SharpMap as WFS client for ESRI ArcMap ?

I'm scouting for a framework that can help me add a WFS (credentials required) layer to my ESRI ArcMap 10.2 installation. The code will form an AddIn extension for ArcMap. Can anyone tell me whether SharpMap is suitable for this purpose ? The examples I see in the tutorial add layers to MapBox type maps, whereas I need to create an ArcObjects-style layer. So I'm guessing I'd have to parse the raw WFS returned data and make an ESRI IFeatureClass from it. Does this sound possible with SharpMap ?

The WFS is buggy, I'm trying to fix the problems. Please stay tuned with the latest changesets.

The WFS data provider exposes the Credentials property but it is not usable because the parsering of the capabilities document is done in constructor.

You can anyway do manual things by using the methods found in HttpClientUtil and the XPathQueryManager to parse the capabilities document, or you can adapt the code to fit your needs.
